THE HOVERBOARD REALLY DOES EXIST
We all thought that the hover board in the 1989 fictional movie, “Back to the Future,” was a far stretch of imagination, until the brand name Lexus, actually created a similar hover board prototype.
This hoverboard levitates just a couple of inches off the ground. The company uses liquid nitrogen to power the super conductor. A super conductor is a material that can transfer energy without resistance. This means that no heat, sound, or any other form of energy would be released from the substance. If you were to put this cooled superconductor above the surface of strong magnet it would begin to levitate from the magnetic force. This is what Lexus did. Although the board can levitate by itself, can it hold a human’s weight? In the many videos Lexus made people were standing on the board, but scientifically if the board was to hold the weight of a human, it would have to be much bigger. The only explanation is that the company placed another set of magnets below the ground to give the board more levitation power. So this amazing new technology may possibly have a little movie magic behind it.
We are on our way to discovering how one a hooverboard could and does work. I look forward to the day when a hoverboard works on any surface, and can hold a couple of hundred pounds just like the film, Back To The Future; and of course, is affordable for uptake.
